Staying in Bijagua or Guatuso? You’re already close to Rio Celeste, so many guests arrive on their own without needing a transfer. If you’d still like a private pickup, it’s available as a paid add-on — just ask when you book.

Getting to Rio Celeste usually means a two to three hour drive on mountain roads, often without a rental car in the itinerary. Above are the areas where our guests most commonly request private transportation for their Rio Celeste tour — pick the one closest to your hotel to see typical travel time and check availability for your dates.

Transportation is always a private vehicle for your group only, never a shared shuttle. Because it runs on limited daily availability, we recommend requesting it at the same time you book your tour rather than waiting until you arrive in Costa Rica.

Transportation Questions

No. Transportation is a separate add-on service, priced apart from the tour itself, and subject to availability. We recommend requesting it when you book your tour rather than assuming it’s included.

As early as possible. Because we run a limited number of private vehicles per day, popular routes like La Fortuna and Guanacaste can fill up during high season (December to April). Requesting transportation at the same time you book your tour gives you the best chance of availability.

Not if you book private transportation with us. If you do have a rental car, most routes to Rio Celeste are drivable in a standard vehicle in dry season; we can also meet you directly at the park or tour meeting point.

No, every transfer is private for your group only, in an air-conditioned vehicle — never a shared shuttle with other hotels’ guests.

In most cases, yes. The areas above cover where most of our guests stay, but message us your exact hotel and dates and we’ll confirm whether pickup is possible.
